Eleven women have come forward with disturbing instances of NY Governor Andrew Cuomo’s sexual misconduct. He not only committed sexual assault, sexual harassment, and intimidation to multiple victims. Mayor Bill de Blasio, President Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have banded together and now publicly call upon Governor Cuomo to resign.
NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio released a statement, “ My first thoughts are with the women who were subject to the abhorrent behavior, and their bravery in stepping forward to share their stories. The Attorney General’s detailed and thorough report substantiates many disturbing instances of severe misconduct. Andrew Cuomo committed sexual assault and sexual harassment, and intimidated a whistleblower. It is disqualifying.”
“It is beyond clear that Andrew Cuomo is not fit to hold office and can no longer serve as Governor. He must resign, and if he continues to resist and attack the investigators who did their jobs, he should be impeached immediately.“
President Joe Biden stated “yes”—he still stands by his statement that Andrew Cuomo should resign from his position, due to the results of the investigation.
Nancy Pelosi issued a statement “Under Attorney General Letitia James, a comprehensive and independent investigation into the allegations against Governor Cuomo has been completed. As always, I commend the women who came forward to speak their truth. Recognizing his love of New York and the respect for the office he holds, I call upon the governor to resign”
After a four month investigation, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Cuomo engaged in “unwanted groping, kissing, hugging and making inappropriate comments” to his female aides and others.
“The independent investigation has concluded that Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and in doing so violated federal and state law,” Letitia James said.
Chuck Schumer also made a statement calling upon Andrew Cuomo to resign.
Although Cuomo may have evaded facing punishment for the mass murder of thousands, in the end—justice always prevails. Finally, Andrew Cuomo has been caught in his routine of breaking the very laws he was sworn into office to uphold.
