The future has arrived. Major cities will now mandate vaccines for citizens to be able to participate in society. We are no longer entitled to the free will to make decisions for ourselves. Instead we listen to medical advice from our government. This may sound like science fiction, or even a conspiracy theory, but the horrifying truth is: it’s already begun.
Starting September 13th, New York City become the first U.S. City to require proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in order to participate freely in society. These activities so far include indoor dining, gyms, live venues and performances.
“If you want to participate in our society fully, you’ve got to get vaccinated,” de Blasio stated in a news conference. “It’s time.”
“This is going to be a requirement,” the mayor added, “The only way to patronize these establishments is if you are vaccinated, at least one dose. The same for folks in terms of work, they will need at least one dose,”
On Monday, Bill de Blasio halted of reinstating the indoor mask mandate in order to increase NYC vaccination rates. The reason for the reversal of his decision was that “mandating masks would remove any incentive for getting the vaccine.”
According to NYC data, 40% of New Yorker’s still are not vaccinated. That is nearly half the city, that will now be forced to get the vaccine, no matter the circumstance. Health issues preventing you from getting the vaccine will pose an awkward conversation with business owners across the city.
Despite halting the indoor mask mandate, De Blasio shared a public warning, “We want to strongly recommend that people wear a mask in indoor settings, even if you’re vaccinated.” The mayor continued, “This is particularly true of course if you might be around anyone unvaccinated.” De Blasio added, “Vaccination, vaccination, vaccination, that’s the ballgame.”
This is the start of a great divide in America between cities and states that mandate their citizens, and those which do not. Free will has become modern narcissism. Contrasting views on vaccinations has created two classes of citizens.
Vaccinated now have more American rights than unvaccinated in New York City. Tourists from unvaccinated areas will either be denied travel into the city, or denied engaging in or experiencing the comeback of its nightlife. Does this have anything to do with financial incentive? Is is purely coincidental that Pfizer’s headquarters is located in New York City? What will be the next city to follow this trend?
