Israeli officials have authorized a fourth vaccine for citizens over the age of eighteen, increasing eligibility for the booster concoction. Since the rollout of the fourth doses, COVID-19 cases in Israel have skyrocketed, proving to be the highest level in the world, despite being the most vaccinated country in the world.
As stated by the Israeli Ministry of Health, fourth boosters can be received four months after the third injection1. This produces double the protection from infection as with the third dose, and three to five times [3-5x] more protection from severe morbidity, in comparison to the third dose.
Despite Israel’s precautious state, being the only country giving out fourth doses of coronavirus concoctions, the SARS-CoV-2 virus has run rampant throughout communities resulting in an eighty-eight percent increase in mortalities during the last two weeks of January 2022. Because of the rise in hospitalizations and death, global concern has grown, as Israel has ascended to become one of the largest “hotspots” of the coronavirus and its variants.

Israeli Data
Reported on January 28th, 2022 the final week of January resulted in 179 deaths, marking an eighty-eight [88.4%] percent increase from previous week3. Cases of severely ill patients also increased forty-two percent [42.4%], with 1,095 severely ill COVID-19 Israeli citizens. New Positive COVID-19 Cases
New verified daily cases have skyrocketed in Israel since the start of 2022.
