The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced Thursday it will increase fines for those who disregard the federal mask mandate for air travel.
First-time offenders will be fined $500-$1,000, while repeat offenders will be removed of up to to $3,000.
“If you break the rules, be prepared to pay,” President Biden said stating those who refused to follow forced the federal mandate “It’s wrong, it’s ugly,” accusing even those who received their coronavirus vaccine to “show some respect.”
The Federal Aviation Administration said that more than 70% of incident reports involving disorderly passengers on airplanes during 2021 were related to refusals to wear a mask. So far the FAA had already issued more than a million dollars in fines.
When flying, travelers are allowed to remove their masks while eating or drinking, during an entire movie if they should choose to. Yet, with these newly imposed mandates, we must show respect to the authoritative demand to cover our face before and after take off. Does a virus becomes less deadly when you are hungry? Does the airport have the same “cutting edge technology” air filtration as the airplane? If vaccines are so effective, and masks don’t work why do masks matter?
