Chemicals in the Water: Arsenic

Water is essential; it’s found in the food you eat, and the beverages you consume; it’s used to shower, brush your teeth, and wash your hands; the element of water is ubiquitous to our existence. The U.S. Department of Interior’s U.S. Geological Survey reports that between 55-60% of the human body is made of water; while “the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water” (USGS). The DOI’s USGS asserts that “About 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth’s water,” (USGS). Yet few stop to consider how safe the tap water from the faucet really is; just because it is clear does not mean it is void of trace toxins, chemicals, or other concerning hazards. Citizens now demand representation in the purification of public drinking water, yet the assurance of freshwater is omitted from regulatory bureaucracies and the utilization of tax dollars.

Research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revealed 80% of America’s drinking water contains trace levels of arsenic, among other toxic substances, (CDC). The depopulative globalist enterprise World Health Organization (WHO) declares that; “[i]norganic arsenic is a confirmed carcinogen and is the most significant chemical contaminant in drinking-water globally,” (WHO). The New York State Department of Health adds “[a]rsenic is a chemical present in the environment as a naturally occurring substance and as a result of human activity. It is found in water, air, food and soil,” (Health). The study used chimeric humanized mice, applying small amounts of arsenic to their drinking water; after one month, the study revealed that the male mice had Type 2 Diabetes. This is just one of the many horrors resulting from acute exposure to harmful chemicals in the drinking water like arsenic. Moreover, as hybrid humanized animals become regular practice in modern medicine; extremely concerning infringement on inherent human morality falls into question. The purpose of this report is to warn the public against federal negligence with common tap water; a necessary resource every human being is entitled to, no matter their citizenship or any other factor.

Health Authorities Acknowledge Arsenic

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) produced a factsheet on arsenic, expounding on its origin; “[i]norganic arsenic compounds are in soils, sediments, and groundwater. These compounds occur either naturally, or as a result of mining, ore smelting, or when using arsenic for industrial purposes.” The New York Department of Health (NYSDOH) states that “Everyone has a small amount of arsenic in their body. There are two general types of arsenic: organic and inorganic…Tobacco smoke contains arsenic which can be inhaled by smokers and those exposed to secondhand smoke, (NYDOH).

The New York City State Department of Health details the effects of those exposed to arsenic, writing that, “[e]xposure to high levels of arsenic can cause nausea, vomiting, abnormal heart rate, damage to blood vessels, and a sensation of “pins and needles” in the hands and feet. Eating or breathing low levels of inorganic arsenic for a long time can cause darkening of the skin and the appearance of small corns or warts on the palms, soles and body. Breathing or eating inorganic arsenic can increase the risk for certain cancers,” (Health). Surprisingly, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) proclaims that The health risks associated with the presence of naturally occurring radionuclides in drinking-water should also be taken into consideration, although the contribution of drinking-water to total exposure to radionuclides is very small under normal circumstances. Formal guidelines are not set for individual radionuclides in drinking-water,” (NCBI).

The WHO adds that “[t]he current recommended limit of arsenic in drinking-water is 10 μg/L, although this guideline value is designated as provisional because of practical difficulties in removing arsenic from drinking-water,” (WHO). In the same breath, the World Health Organization (WHO) acknowledges “Arsenic is one of WHO’s 10 chemicals of major public health concern,” (WHO).

A National Institutes of Health (NIH) report states that “Arsenic cannot be tasted, seen or smelled and can vary in concentration between water wells even in condensed areas. American domestic well water is not regulated to meet the same drinking water standards as other types of water supplies and often contains arsenic,” (NIH).

The WHO denotes that “[w]ater should be free of taste and odours [sic] that would be objectionable to the majority of consumers,” (p. 7, WHO). Many residents can attest to the strange odors and smells experienced in regular tap water directly from the faucet.

The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) submits that “People are most likely exposed to inorganic arsenic through drinking water… Unusually large doses of inorganic arsenic can cause symptoms ranging from nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea to dehydration and shock. Long-term exposure to high levels of inorganic arsenic in drinking water is associated with certain medical conditions. These conditions include skin disorders, an increased risk for diabetes, high blood pressure, and several types of cancer. Inorganic arsenic and arsenic compounds are considered to be cancer-causing chemicals,” (CDC).

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) states that “If it is not detected and removed via filtration, a variety of serious, yet common, medical conditions may arise from chronic arsenic exposure, some of which are life-threatening. These include diabetes mellitus, hypertension, skin cancer, renal, bladder and lung cancers, polyneuropathy and cardiac QTc prolongation. Testing is best done through urine speciation if an initial total urine arsenic concentration is elevated,” (NIH).

Ancient Acknowledgement of Arsenic

An infographic produced by Compound Interest reveals that arsenic has been acknowledged as a poison since Ancient Rome; two millenniums later citizens continue to be normalized to the public presecence of low levels of the deadly substance, (CompoundChem). Arsenic is not safe, even in small doses; especially through chronic exposure.

The U.S. Department of Interior’s (DOI) U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) revealed that “dangerously high levels of arsenic have been found in drinking water wells in more than 25 states in the United States, potentially [sic] exposing 2.1 million people to drinking water high in arsenic,” (DOI). The Department of Interior compared these numbers to the “worst case ever of arsenic poisoning” which is reported to have “occurred in Bangladesh, where over 100 million people were poisoned by arsenic in groundwater supplies,” (DOI). The USGS chart below reveals nearly all of America has been exposed to some form of arsenic poisoning.

It remains difficult to interpret both the short-term effects and chronic exposure of arsenic; its side effects are often of undetected origin, leading to misdiagnosis and mismanagement of the destructive toxic substance approved for America’s drinking-water.

Conclusion

The individual solution is concise; water purification has become the responsibility of the citizen, and should not be trusted to the state. Major institutions openly disclose the heavy metal toxins individuals are exposed to on a daily basis. It does not benefit these authoritative entities to invest finances for water purification; in their eyes, leaving that responsibility to citizens stimulates the economy and ensures there remains an increasing need for medical institutions. While major pharmaceutical companies around the world work to develop new experimental concoctions to offset the detrimental effects of contaminated water; none have targeted the source, promising a cleaner tomorrow for all citizens. Fresh water is not be a luxury reserved for the wealthy, but a God-given inherent right to each and every person.

As the Lord reminds us of the importance of clean water in the Old Testament; for it holds the power to redeem. As God commanded Moses, ”only the gold, the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead, everything that can stand the fire, you shall pass through the fire, and it shall be clean. Nevertheless, it shall also be purified with the water for impurity. And whatever cannot stand the fire, you shall pass through the water. You must wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean. And afterward you may come into the camp, ” (Numbers 31:22-24; ESV). Historically, water and fire were two methods of purification that rid people and objects of toxins, bacteria, and disease. Through Ezekiel, His Holy Spirit stated; “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules,” (Ezekiel 36:25-27; ESV).

Contemporary incumbent pols neglect to sustain the integrity of water, offering countless reactionary options once noticeable ill effects have occurred. The result is mass depopulation, sickness, and disease; whereby all citizens are subjected daily to the same harmful substances found in cigarette smoke and rat poison. This is unacceptable and irresponsible in the modern age, that any omission to implement methods of water purification is pursuant to public endangerment and democide. Why doesn’t the United States strive to offer its citizens the highest quality drinking water? What federal benefits exist through the suppression of filtration of heavy metals? What steps can be done to prevent arsenic and other heavy metal poisoning?
