The American dream has become the new target of political weaponization. Republican Leader Mitch McConnell urged all unvaccinated Americans to receive the vaccine, warning of a second economic shutdown, should people refuse.
“These shots need to get in everybody’s arms as rapidly as possible or we’re going to be back in a situation in the fall that we don’t yearn for — that we went through last year,” McConnell muttered. “This is not complicated.”
Representative Thomas Massie, came to the defense of working class Americans, stating: “Inserting needles into people without their consent is violence. Depriving them of their basic human rights because they won’t give consent is also violence.”
While millions of Americans lost their jobs and livelihoods across the country—burning through their life savings, incurring debt—Congressmen like Mitch McConnell still got their paychecks, maybe even a bonus for all their “hard work”. This was either taken right from our taxpayer pockets, or just simply printed at the Federal Reserve, further devaluing the U.S. dollar. Instead of letting Americans work, the government decided to send stimulus checks, to everyone—even those still employed—attached to hundred billion dollar partisan wishlists and international funding. Forced welfarism for workers deemed “non-essential”, who previously had been living paycheck to paycheck. What happened to the land of the free?
Now, just as hardworking Americans are coming out of these lockdowns, we are being threatened by another out of touch politician with further economic shutdown. As experienced last year, the majority of family owned businesses, and small businesses were lost as a result of the lockdowns. Additionally, many Americans lives were needlessly lost as a result of the economic shutdown. Since 2020, both mental health cases and violent crimes have skyrocketed.
This is not a time to threaten the 163 million Americans who have already taken the vaccine, and who are sick and tired of hearing about vaccines, and having “COVID-19” infest every facet of their existence. Nor is it a time to threaten the other half of Americans who chose not to receive it, or weren’t able to find time to.

In America, the unknown hysteria surrounding the pandemic is finally over. We have developed three vaccines, which are freely available. For those Americans who choose not to get the vaccine, it is within their God given right to choose what they inject into their body, while on U.S. soil. Knowing the risks associated with being unvaccinated, many young Americans with strong healthy immune systems are choosing not to take the vaccine. What happened to freedom of choice?
Instead of fighting for the freedom of American’s human rights and the resurgence of our country’s free market economy, politicians like Mitch McConnell evidently seem to be fighting to pay back the investors who funded the vaccine, alongside aiding in the transfer the wealth from working class to corporate America.
