Can 5G Cause Cytokine Storms?

While it is known that Cytokine Storms have many root causes. and are triggered by a variety of factors, COVID-19 has become to latest cause of Cytokine Storms wreaking havoc throughout the bodies of millions around the world. There is a substantial amount of evidence that 5G is known cause COVID-19 symptoms, however to what extent? Could the Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Field 5G Radiation trigger a Cytokine Storm?

EMF Radiation is known to cause cellular damage and make it more difficult for the body to repair itself. Research shows that EMF Radiation disrupts the immune system and is also capable of producing inflammation. This can disturb the body, potentially leading to immunodeficiencies.

As new technology is developed, radiofrequency electromagnetic field radiation is increasingly becoming a more pervasive destructive biological threat. Despite the data, innovators continue to flood the market with 5G devices, ultimately requiring more towers. As this technology grows closer to our organism, the symptoms and effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic field radiation begin to appear in different forms.

Telecommunication technology is a vital aspect of modern society, the insistence on radiofrequencies to give life to the internet of things (IoT), other technologies have been overlooked due to the effectiveness of radiofrequency wireless technology. As stronger radiofrequencies are used to allow high bandwidths, faster connections, more devices, rife surveillance and to provide “life” to A.I. technology. This form of global connectivity has proven itself so useful, the majority of our species views wireless telecommunication technology as a healthy revitalizing aspect of their existence.

As the 5G rollout officially began on October 31st, 2019, COVID-19 symptoms began appearing in December 2019. Scientists and researchers around the world have reported that radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation—like 5G technology—has the ability to trigger inflammation, along with cytokine storm. The following eight articles breakdown the biological effects of RF-EMF 5G Radiation, and telecommunication’s radioactive impact on human health, comparing these symptoms to those exhibited in COVID-19 patients.

What Frequency is 5G?

Verizon Wireless1 describes the frequencies used in the 5G devices, stating they operate up to 39GHz.

“Verizon uses several spectrum bands for its 5G offerings.”

“5G Ultra Wideband, Verizon’s millimeter wavelength (mmWave)-based 5G, operates at frequencies of about 28 GHz and 39GHz.”

“This is considerably higher than 4G networks, which use about 700 MHz-2500 MHz frequency to transfer information.”

“Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network uses 28 GHz and 39 GHz mmWave spectrum bands.”

Can RF-EMF 5G Radiation Cause Cytokine Storms?

1) Disturbance of the immune system by electromagnetic fields-A potentially underlying cause for cellular damage and tissue repair reduction which could lead to disease and impairment

In August of 2009, Olle Johansson, a researcher from Sweden discussed the disturbances of immune system function through RF-EMF radiation. The report also warns against current safety levels, citing the inadequacies of current exposure limits.

Disturbance of the immune system by electromagnetic fields-A potentially underlying cause for cellular damage and tissue repair reduction which could lead to disease and impairment2

“EMFs disturb immune function through stimulation of various allergic and inflammatory responses, as well as effects on tissue repair processes. Such disturbances increase the risks for various diseases, including cancer.”

“These and the EMF effects on other biological processes (e.g. DNA damage, neurological effects, etc.) are now widely reported to occur at exposure levels significantly below most current national and international safety limits.”

“It must be concluded that the existing public safety limits are inadequate to protect public health, and that new public safety limits, as well as limits on further deployment of untested technologies, are warranted.”

2) Electromagnetic field induced biological effects in humans

In 2015, five Polish scientists warned against the increasing amount of multiorgan injuries as a result of exposure to electromagnetic field radiation, despite the World Health Organization not viewing it as a disease.

Electromagnetic field induced biological effects in humans

“Exposure to artificial radio frequency electromagnetic fields (EMFs) has increased significantly in recent decades. Therefore, there is a growing scientific and social interest in its influence on health, even upon exposure significantly below the applicable standards.”

“The intensity of electromagnetic radiation in human environment is increasing and currently reaches astronomical levels that had never before experienced on our planet.”

“The most influential process of EMF impact on living organisms, is its direct tissue penetration.”

“It is well known that weak EMF could cause all sorts of dramatic non-thermal effects in body cells, tissues and organs. The observed symptoms are hardly to assign to other environmental factors occurring simultaneously in the human environment.”

“Electromagnetic fields can be dangerous not only because of the risk of cancer, but also other health problems, including electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS).”

“Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) is a phenomenon characterized by the appearance of symptoms after exposure of people to electromagnetic fields, generated by EHS is characterized as a syndrome with a broad spectrum of non-specific multiple organ symptoms including both acute and chronic inflammatory processes located mainly in the skin and nervous systems, as well as in respiratory, cardiovascular systems, and musculoskeletal system.”

“WHO does not consider the EHS as a disease– defined on the basis of medical diagnosis and symptoms associated with any known syndrome. The symptoms may be associated with a single source of EMF or be derived from a combination of many sources”

“The symptoms may be associated with a single source of EMF or be derived from a combination of many sources. Reported symptoms associated with electromagnetic fields are characterized by the overlapping effect with other individuals with these symptoms exhibited a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations, related to exposure to a single or multiple sources of EMF.”

“The number of people suffering from EHS in the world is growing describing themselves as severely dysfunctional, showing multi organ non-specific symptoms upon exposure to low doses of electromagnetic radiation, often associated with hypersensitivity to many chemical agents (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity-MCS) and/or other environmental intolerances (Sensitivity Related Illness-SRI).”

3) Impact of Long-Term RF-EMF on Oxidative Stress and Neuroinflammation in Aging Brains of C57BL/6 Mice

On June 19th, 2018, eight South Korean scientists and researchers tested the long term effects of Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Field Radiation in mice. The study targeted Oxidative Stress, and Neuroinflammation.

Impact of Long-Term RF-EMF on Oxidative Stress and Neuroinflammation in Aging Brains of C57BL/6 Mice3

“The expansion of mobile phone use has raised questions regarding the possible biological effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) exposure on oxidative stress and brain inflammation.”

“Despite accumulative exposure of humans to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMFs) from mobile phones, their long-term effects on oxidative stress and neuroinflammation in the aging brain have not been studied.”

Compared with those in the young group, levels of protein (3-nitro-tyrosine) and lipid (4-hydroxy-2-nonenal) oxidative damage markers were significantly increased in the brains of aged mice. In addition, levels of markers for DNA damage (8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine, p53, p21, γH2AX, and Bax), apoptosis (cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1)), astrocyte (GFAP), and microglia (Iba-1) were significantly elevated in the brains of aged mice.

“However, long-term RF-EMF exposure did not change the levels of oxidative stress, DNA damage, apoptosis, astrocyte, or microglia markers in the aged mouse brains. Moreover, long-term RF-EMF exposure did not alter locomotor activity in aged mice. Therefore, these findings indicate that long-term exposure to RF-EMF did not influence age-induced oxidative stress or neuroinflammation in C57BL/6 mice.”

4) Towards 5G communication systems: Are there health implications?

In 2018 Italian researcher, Agostino Di Ciaula, published a report reminding the medical community that the World Health Organization classified radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation as “possibl[y] carcinogenic to humans”, and that its health effects were still under investigation. First observations showed millimeter waves increased skin temperature. Di Ciaula noted inflammatory responses as a result, in addition to the ability to alter bacterial antibiotic resistance.

Towards 5G communication systems: Are there health implications?4

“The spread of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) is rising and health effects are still under investigation.”

“Although some evidences are still controversial, the WHO IARC classified RF-EMF as “possible carcinogenic to humans”, and more recent studies suggested reproductive, metabolic and neurologic effects of RF-EMF, which are also able to alter bacterial antibiotic resistance.”

“[A]lthough the biological effects of 5G communication systems are very scarcely investigated, an international action plan for the development of 5G networks has started, with a forthcoming increment in devices and density of small cells, and with the future use of millimeter waves (MMW).”

“Preliminary observations showed that MMW increase skin temperature, alter gene expression, promote cellular proliferation and synthesis of proteins linked with oxidative stress, inflammatory and metabolic processes, could generate ocular damages, affect neuro-muscular dynamics.”

“[A]vailable findings seem sufficient to demonstrate the existence of biomedical effects, to invoke the precautionary principle, to define exposed subjects as potentially vulnerable and to revise existing limits”

4) Chronic electromagnetic field exposure decreases HSP70 levels and lowers cytoprotection

Four Researchers from Washington DC studied the effects of both short-term and long-term RF-EMF exposure to chick embryos reporting a noticable decline in the protection of cells [cytoprotection]. The decrease in the protection of cells, produces vulnerability in the host to an invasion of active viral particles, resulting in a potential cytokine storm.

Chronic electromagnetic field exposure decreases HSP70 levels and lowers cytoprotection5

“Electromagnetic field (EMF) exposures have been shown to induce heat shock proteins (HSPs), which help to maintain the conformation of cellular proteins during periods of stress.”

“We have previously reported that short-term exposure of chick embryos to either 60 Hz (extremely low frequency: ELF), or radio-frequency (RF: 915 MHz) EMFs induce protection against hypoxia.”

“Experiments presented in the current report are based on a study in which long-term (4 days), continuous exposure to ELF-EMFs decreased protection against ultraviolet radiation. Based on this result, it was hypothesized that de-protection against hypoxia should also occur following long-term, continuous, or daily, repeated exposures to EMFs. To test this hypothesis, chick embryos were exposed to ELF-EMFs (8 microT) continuously for 4 days, or to ELF or RF (3.5 mW incident power)-EMFs repeated daily (20, 30, or 60 min once or twice daily for 4 days).”

“Several of the exposure protocols yielded embryos that had statistically significant decreases in protection against hypoxic stress (continuous and 30 or 60 min ELF twice daily; or 30 or 60 min once daily RF). This is consistent with our finding that following 4 days of ELF-EMF exposure, HSP70 levels decline by 27% as compared to controls.”

“In addition, the superposition of ELF-EMF noise, previously shown to minimize ELF-EMF induced hypoxia protection, inhibited hypoxia de-protection caused by long term, continuous ELF or daily, repeated RF exposures.”

“This EMF-induced decrease in HSP70 levels and resulting decline in cytoprotection suggests a mechanism by which daily exposure (such as might be experienced by mobile phone users) could enhance the probability of cancer and other diseases.”

5) Radio frequency electromagnetic fields: mild hyperthermia and safety standards

Three researchers from the Directed Energy Bioeffects Laboratory at the Naval health Research Center in Texas explains how electromagnetic energy is uniquely absorbed contrast to ionizing radiation, [like X-rays]. It states radiofrequency electromagnetic field radiation has the ability to “deposit thermalizing energy deep in the body”, and find the effects to be detectable in laboratory animals, increasing to various degrees depending on the exposure range.

Radio frequency electromagnetic fields: mild hyperthermia and safety standards6

“Covered here are topics on dosimetry, thermoregulatory responses, behavioral responses, and how these have been used to derive safe exposure limits for humans to RF-EMF.”

“Energy in this portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, 3 kHz-300 GHz, can be uniquely absorbed and is different from ionizing radiation both in dosimetry and effects.”

“The deposition of thermalizing energy deep in the body by exposure to RF-EMF fields provides a unique exception to the energy flows normally encountered by humans.”

“Behavioral effects of RF-EMF exposure range from detection to complete cessation of trained behaviors.”

“RF-EMF is detectable and can in most cases, presumably by thermal mechanisms, support aversion and disruption or complete cessation (work stoppage) of behavior.”

“Safety standards are based on behavioral responses by laboratory animals to RF-EMF, enhanced by careful studies of human thermoregulatory responses at four specific RF frequencies, thereby providing a conservative level of protection from RF-EMF for humans.”

6) Comparison of the genotoxic effects induced by 50 Hz extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields and 1800 MHz radiofrequency electromagnetic fields in GC-2 cells

A group of twelve researchers from China’s Department of Occupational Health reported cell damage causing mutations [genotoxicity] as a result of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields, when comparing RF-EMF radiation to extremely low-frequency electromagnetic radiation [ELF-EMF].

Comparison of the genotoxic effects induced by 50 Hz extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields and 1800 MHz radiofrequency electromagnetic fields in GC-2 cells7

“Extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMF) and radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) have been considered to be possibly carcinogenic to humans. However, their genotoxic effects remain controversial.”

“To make experiments controllable and results comparable, we standardized exposure conditions and explored the potential genotoxicity of 50 Hz ELF-EMF and 1800 MHz RF-EMF.”

“A mouse spermatocyte-derived GC-2 cell line was intermittently (5 min on and 10 min off) exposed to 50 Hz ELF-EMF at an intensity of 1, 2 or 3 mT or to RF-EMF in GSM-Talk mode at the specific absorption rates (SAR) of 1, 2 or 4 W/kg.”

“After exposure for 24 h, we found that neither ELF-EMF nor RF-EMF affected cell viability using Cell Counting Kit-8.”

“Through the use of an alkaline comet assay and immunofluorescence against γ-H2AX foci, we found that ELF-EMF exposure resulted in a significant increase of DNA strand breaks at 3 mT, whereas RF-EMF exposure had insufficient energy to induce such effects.”

“Using a formamidopyrimidine DNA glycosylase (FPG)-modified alkaline comet assay, we observed that RF-EMF exposure significantly induced oxidative DNA base damage at a SAR value of 4 W/kg, whereas ELF-EMF exposure did not.”

“Our results suggest that both ELF-EMF and RF-EMF under the same experimental conditions may produce genotoxicity at relative high intensities, but they create different patterns of DNA damage. Therefore, the potential mechanisms underlying the genotoxicity of different frequency electromagnetic fields may be different.”

7) Evidence for a connection between coronavirus disease-19 and exposure to radiofrequency radiation from wireless communications including 5G

Does 5G cause COVID-19 symptoms?

There is an overwhelming amount of research indicating that 5G has the potential to cause COVID-19 symptoms. If RF-EMF radiation has the ability to weaken cell protection and impact our immune systems, it could make us more susceptible to a severe COVID-19 viral infections.

Evidence for a connection between coronavirus disease-19 and exposure to radiofrequency radiation from wireless communications including 5G8

“Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) public health policy has focused on the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus and its effects on human health while environmental factors have been largely ignored.”

“In considering the epidemiological triad (agent-host-environment) applicable to all disease, we investigated a possible environmental factor in the COVID-19 pandemic: ambient radiofrequency radiation from wireless communication systems including microwaves and millimeter waves.”

“SARS-CoV-2, the virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic, surfaced in Wuhan, China shortly after the implementation of city-wide (fifth generation [5G] of wireless communications radiation [WCR]), and rapidly spread globally, initially demonstrating a statistical correlation to international communities with recently established 5G networks.”

“In this study, we examined the peer-reviewed scientific literature on the detrimental bioeffects of WCR and identified several mechanisms by which WCR may have contributed to the COVID-19 pandemic as a toxic environmental cofactor.”

“By crossing boundaries between the disciplines of biophysics and pathophysiology, we present evidence that WCR [wireless communications radiation] may: (1) cause morphologic changes in erythrocytes including echinocyte and rouleaux formation that can contribute to hypercoagulation; (2) impair microcirculation and reduce erythrocyte and hemoglobin levels exacerbating hypoxia; (3) amplify immune system dysfunction, including immunosuppression, autoimmunity, and hyperinflammation; (4) increase cellular oxidative stress and the production of free radicals resulting in vascular injury and organ damage; (5) increase intracellular Ca2+ essential for viral entry, replication, and release, in addition to promoting pro-inflammatory pathways; and (6) worsen heart arrhythmias and cardiac disorders.”

“Relevance for patients: In short, WCR has become a ubiquitous environmental stressor that we propose may have contributed to adverse health outcomes of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 and increased the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we recommend that all people, particularly those suffering from SARS-CoV-2 infection, reduce their exposure to WCR as much as reasonably achievable until further research better clarifies the systemic health effects associated with chronic WCR exposure.”

8) Possible health effects on the human brain by various generations of mobile telecommunication: a review based estimation of 5G impact

On January 31st, 2022, six scientists from Estonia reviewed all the literature of experimental studies over the past fifteen years. Their findings indicated that our existing modern technologies have moved beyond the current research of its effects, warning that more data is needed in order to properly assess the risks associated with 5G NR technology. The studies discuss both 5G NR FB1 [Frequency band 1] and 5G NF FB2 [Frequency band 2].

Possible health effects on the human brain by various generations of mobile telecommunication: a review based estimation of 5G impact9

“The deployment of new 5G NR technology has significantly raised public concerns in possible negative effects on human health by radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF EMF).”

“The current review is aimed to clarify the differences between possible health effects caused by the various generations of telecommunication technology, especially discussing and projecting possible health effects by 5G.”

“The review of experimental studies on the human brain over the last fifteen years and the discussion on physical mechanisms and factors determining the dependence of the RF EMF effects on frequency and signal structure have been performed to discover and explain the possible distinctions between health effects by different telecommunication generations.”

“Conclusions: The human experimental studies on RF EMF effects on the human brain by 2G, 3G and 4G at frequencies from 450 to 2500 MHz were available for analyses.”

“The search for publications indicated no human experimental studies by 5G nor at the RF EMF frequencies higher than 2500 MHz.

“The results of the current review demonstrate no consistent relationship between the character of RF EMF effects and parameters of exposure by different generations (2G, 3G, and 4G) of telecommunication technology.”

“At the RF EMF frequencies lower than 10 GHz, the impact of 5G NR FR1 should have no principal differences compared to the previous generations.”

“The radio frequencies used in 5G are even higher and the penetration depths of the fields are smaller; therefore, the effect is rather lower than at previous generations.”

“At the RF EMF frequencies higher than 10 GHz, the mechanism of the effects might differ and the impact of 5G NR FR2 becomes unpredictable.”

“Existing knowledge about the mechanism of RF EMF effects at millimeter waves lacks sufficient experimental data and theoretical models for reliable conclusions.”

“The insufficient knowledge about the possible health effects at millimeter waves and the lack of in vivo experimental studies on 5G NR underline an urgent need for the theoretical and experimental investigations of health effects by 5G NR, especially by 5G NR FR2 [5G operating at higher frequencies]”

Conclusion

With COVID-19, came the weakening of society that has prompted health officials and leaders around the world to implement totalitarian lockdowns in place, and mandate a one-strain-fits-all vaccine. At the end of the day, how many people have died from this pandemic as a result of radiofrequency electromagnetic field radiation induced immunodeficiencies, succumbing to the biological impacts of the harmful invisible arrays that encompass our species in daily life? The conclusion: more research needs to be done in order to understand the impacts of living inside the inescapable artificial electromagnetic field bubble of radiation. As the telecommunication frequencies intensify, devices will begin their biological fusion with the Internet of Things (IoT) biosensors will become a more convenient way to maintain physiological diagnostics without lugging around external devices. Although this may sound ideal, what risks will in vivo RF-EMF radiation present if the toxicological effects are already beginning to weaken the immunity of our species, making us more susceptible to COVID-19, and the lasting effects known as “Long-COVID” by the World Health Organization10 (WHO).

If Cytokine Storms can be triggered by Radiofrequency Electro Magnetic Field Radiation, this would indicate there are very real threats to our public health which exist beyond COVID-19. Unlike the global response to combat COVID-19, Electromagnetic Field Radiation is seen as harmless by society. If 5G radiation has the ability to agitate our immune systems causing hyper multi organ inflammation, this may only be the beginning of the biological effects seen throughout the global population as 5G continues its integration into every facet of our personal individual existence. Have we become the subjects of a mass electromagnetic field radiation experiment?
