China’s government, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is responsible for a country with a population of 1.4 billion1. The CCP enforces a “zero-covid policy” throughout China, meaning a single instance of active infection of COVID-19 results in mass quarantine, total shutdown, and forced testing. The Chinese Communist Party’s goal is to rid China of the virus by the Winter Olympics by any means necessary. Out of all 132,737 COVID-19 cases reported in China, the country has had a 95.7% recovery rate for those diagnosed with COVID-19. As a result, 5,699 mortalities have been declared2.
Meanwhile, on the democratic island of Taiwan, the population has experienced a 92.73% recovery rate for those diagnosed with COVID-19. Out of all 17,155 COVID-19 cases reported in Taiwan, 850 mortalities were stated as a result3.
By comparison, America has seen a 98.50% recovery rate4. Out of 54,910,550 confirmed cases in the United States, there were 819,656 reported mortalities as a result of the coronavirus.
Throughout China, the CCP has implemented harsh confinements, forcing civilians to stay indoors. China’s zero-COVID policy has forced millions of residents to comply with the regime’s demands, giving up their individual liberties, going weeks with heavily restricted access for citizens to replenish basic necessities and supplies.
Xi’an
On December 23rd, 2021, Xi’an, a city of 13 million people, confined its residents to their homes under total lockdown5after the Chinese Communist Party imposed strict totalitarian measures, stating these restrictions would remain in effect until “zero social transmission6was achieved.” Medics from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have been recruited to help the city.
Under quarantine, Xi’an citizens are reported to only allowed one member of the house to leave every two days to get food. There are even reports of Hospitals requiring proof of negative test, in order to be seen. Independent Chinese Journalist Jiang Xue said “courier services in the city had been suspended since December 21 and people were unable to order online”.
As a result, Xi’an’s 13 million citizens are currently experiencing a food shortage due to the restrictions of the government. Food is rationed by the CCP, as hungry citizens line up, forced to obey the regime’s collectivist ideology. Many civilians have turned to bartering. Reportedly trading electronic devices, such as iphones, ipads, and nintendos, for vegetables or bags of rice, as a result of being deprived of food. The cause for these life-threatening lockdowns? Xi’an has recorded less than 1,000 COVID-19 cases since December 9th, 2021. With China’s zero-covid policy, even a single case results in a medical dictatorship.
Yuzhou
Over one million people in Yuzhou have been placed into lockdown after just three confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported7 between January 2nd, and January 3rd, 2022, making Yuzhou the second Chinese city to go into full lockdown as a result of COVID-19.
Yuzhou’s 1.1 million residents are confined in their homes, with public transportation suspended. As of January 4, over 950,000 people have been tested8. The city of Yuzhou will remain on lockdown until all 1.1 million citizens have negative tests.
Hong Kong
Travel Ban. As a result of the omicron variant, and what is being described as the “fifth COVID-19 wave”, Hong Kong has imposed a travel ban from 8 countries, including the United States9, beginning on January 7th, 2022. These countries include Australia, Canada, France, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, UK and United States of America. This travel ban will remain in effect until January 21st, 2022. In addition, Hong Kongers may only engage in indoor dining during the day, leaving promptly by 6:00pm.
Lockdown. Employers are encouraged to allow their employees when possible to work from home. In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, fifteen public resources will adhere to the lockdowns, remaining in effect until January 21st 2022. These restricted resources include: bars, nightclubs, gyms, theme parks, museums, venues, spas, public, pools, bathhouses, arcades, karaoke rooms, arenas, casinos for mahjong and tin kau [dominoes], local tours and cruises, cinemas/movie theatres. Civilians are encouraged to social distance during this time, as well as avoid any large group gatherings.

Hong Kong has administered over 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
- 73.4% of Hong Kongers have received their first primary dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
- 69.5% of Hong Kongers have received their second primary dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
- 6.8% of Hong Kongers have received their COVID-19 booster.
Wuhan
Two years after the initial outbreak in Wuhan, China many recovered patients still experience reduced quality of life, showing a glimpse into the long-term effects following a COVID-19 diagnosis. Beyond mental symptoms like anxiety and depression, more than half of recovered patients showed abnormal CT (computed tomography) scans. Citizens have begun using the term “Long COVID” to describe these lasting symptoms.
“56 per cent of the patients who originally had symptoms that were not severe still showed abnormal findings in their CT scan nearly one year after infection, including ground-glass opacities, bronchiectasis, nodules and fibrosis.” – reported the South China Morning Post
Long COVID
The term “Long COVID”—lasting symptoms after Covid-19 recovery—is an officially recognized condition by the World Health Organization (WHO), and a growing health concern11.
Symptoms of Long COVID include headache, chest pain, muscle pain, pins and needles, forgetfulness, depression, decline in memory or cognitive function, brain fog, loss of smell, anxiety, persistent cough, shortness of breath, palpitations, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, recurrent fever, inflammation of the heart muscle, lung function abnormalities, sleep disturbances, changes in mood or personality.
The symptoms and effects post COVID-19 are still very under documented. The World Health Organization reported 30% of COVID-19 patients surveyed still had persistent symptoms after nine months.
“Post COVID-19 condition occurs in individuals with a history of probable or confirmed SARS CoV-2 infection, usually 3 months from the onset of COVID-19 with symptoms and that last for at least 2 months and cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis.”
“Common symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, cognitive dysfunction but also others and generally have an impact on everyday functioning. Symptoms may be new onset following initial recovery from an acute COVID-19 episode or persist from the initial illness. Symptoms may also fluctuateor relapse over time. This definition may change as new evidence emerges and our understanding continues to evolve.”
US Diplomatic Boycott of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics
As the 2022 Winter Olympic Games approaches on February 4th, the Chinese Communist Party has placed all residents in surrounding cities on strict lockdowns, until zero cases are reported. On December 7th, 2021, the Biden Administration announced a diplomatic boycott, to bring awareness to the Uyghur Muslims12.
Eighteen U.S. officials13 applied for three-month visas for “security support operations”, despite the Biden Administration’s vow to a diplomatic boycott for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The Biden Administration announced that they would stand up for human rights in China, bringing awareness to oppressed minorities in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Chinese forced labor camps (laogai) disguised as factories, and human organ harvesting from “prisoners”, among other atrocities.
The CCP also hold aggression and desire to control Taiwan, converting it into a communist state. Xi Jinping aims to prosper off the labors of the Taiwanese people, gaining more power, expanding his regime. Forced collectivization is modern slavery, an anti-American value, yet many American corporations and U.S. politicians profit off of China and its 1.4 billion population.
Conclusion
While the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wants to give the perspective of a peaceful nation, in actuality the government is quite the opposite. China exists as a one-party state, working with western governments like the Biden Administration, as well as American corporations, to normalize their communist regime into western society. With the incoming 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the CCP wants to remove the global focus on China from the COVID-19 outbreak, bringing international attention to the strength and power of their regime. Despite the modern human rights abuses which continue to occur in China, Chinese officials deny that laogai (forced labor reform) still exists. However, China’s modern economy has become reliant on this form of labor, which has attributed to its rapid economic and infrastructure growth. Many American companies and politicians also financially benefit from the Chinese Communist Party’s inhumane practices. Often, too U.S. officials see complying and overlooking the atrocities of the CCP as strategy to avoid conflict with China. Despite the Biden Administration’s public diplomatic boycott, why are they sending eighteen U.S. officials to Beijing? What political message does this send to the Chinese Communist Party of their complicity to human rights abuse? Should the historic violence of the CCP against their own population, and surrounding minorities, be accepted as modern tradition?
If COVID-19 was in fact created by the Chinese Communist Party, it has allowed the same ideologies and collectivist strategies of the totalitarian regime to infect every country on the planet. The United States has adopted and implemented many of these same authoritative tactics on the American population. Did COVID-19 forcibly imprint the blueprint of communism into every society on the planet? Has the pandemic taught citizens to submit to their government, for the greater good of society? While coronavirus appears to have marked the end of individualism in America, between freedom of information, COVID-19 data, experimental vaccines, alternative treatments, and perpetual variants, this has become a pandemic of human division and tyrannical government control. Humanity has enough resources to fight the coronavirus, yet the population is controlled, suppressed, and divided, for political power, and pharmaceutical profit. When will this pandemic end?
