Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell froze during his speech Wednesday June 26th, mid thought; after standing before the press in silence for a period of time, a colleague came to ask if there was anything else he wanted to say. McConnell was then escorted away from the podium, in what appeared to be a confused daze; he was later seen leaving the press conference early, as he left the range of camera.
Mitch McConnell is living proof that there exists another body of power that exists behind the scenes, using politicians as the face of their operation. McConnell’s health emergency calls into question the very federal bureaucracy itself; he was voted into office through representation, he was elected to power by his peers.
While many believe that the 17th Constitutional Amendment was created to give the people more representation, it merely opened up American cities to further gerrymandering and caucus building; this facilitated a variety of new bureaucracies and special interest groups. Rather than politicians being elected to represent the observable needs of the state, now the people are propagandized by corporate interest groups to be swayed in favor of the candidate that will bring the most opportunity for aristocratic prosperity.
Mitch McConnell represents a politician who would certainly not be elected to lead one-half of the entire political system in our nation, yet he stands before the press reading a script concocted by publicists. The 17th Amendment has encouraged demagogues; politicians that are paid to rally support for important civic issues, only to later rescind this passion due to a lack of federal appropriations allocated to such endeavors.
After stating that he was fine, McConnell returned to answer questions. Mitch McConnell attempted to redeem himself as a passionate patriot who insists on fulfilling his duty in office, yet much of the erroneous policy that has brought America to its current state faced no intervention from McConnell on behalf of the people. It is unlikely that politicians will find a correlation to the lives they seek to intervene in; siphoning the wallets of the public has proven to be a strong bipartisan endeavor, one that those who exploit society from the confines of the federal government hope to preserve.
We pray for Mitch McConnell’s speedy recovery; we pray that revelatory insight be placed upon him, and those who have appointed him into a position of power be faced with accountability to the public. Either McConnell needs to change, or the Senate Republican Leader’s seat needs another candidate to succeed.
